I spent the first 25 years of my practice primarily involved in all aspects of commercial dispute resolution. This included numerous cases from the District Court through to the Supreme Court addressing a wide range of disputes including breach of commercial contracts, confidentiality and intellectual property claims, building and construction disputes and property claims.

This work however focused on assisting clients to resolve relationships that had gone wrong. At the same time it gave me a strong insight into areas or matters that could have been addressed at the formation of the relationship that could have avoided those subsequent disputes. I believed that if I could be involved at the negotiation and completion of these contractual arrangements from the inception, I could add greater value to the client and assist them in avoiding the costs and delays that arise when agreements go wrong.

As a result I changed focus to being involved at the time of entering into commercial relationships.
